Product Description
Contrees Champagne is a project between Oliver Horiot, Elise Dechannes and Arnaud Lamoureaux. The exploration into terrior differences into the same grape varietal (Pinot Noir), same appellation, in specific different lieu-dix in Les Ricey. The first attempt in vintage 2009 has been finally released to acclaimed reception. There four lieu-dix are:
Val du clos
Consist of marl clary in the sub soil with primarily red brown clay.
Slope at 20-40% with an altitude of 200 meters. Vines are 31 yrs old.
Natural alcohol is at 10.8%, harvested on 22nd Sept 2009.
Escharère
Grey Beige Marl for the soil and Calcareous clay for the soil.
Facing east, the slopes are gentle 0-20% with an altitude of 250m. Vines are 24 yrs old
19th sept 2009, 11% alc.
Val Bazot
Sub soil of Marl Clay, with red brown clay as the soil. Facing south, slopes at 40% with an elevation of 260m.
41 year old vines yielding 11% Alocohol. Harvested on 16th sept 2009.
Fragnoy
Grey Beige Marl for the soil and Calcareous clay for the soil.
Facing east, the slopes are gentle 20-40% with an altitude of 240m. Vines are 37 yrs old
