About Sydonios
‘The idea of creating a glass, that really felt like there was no intermediary between the wine and the taster, just kept coming back to me’.
Sydonios is founded by Antoine Schvart, a former wine broker, whose work involving tasting dozens of wines every day inspired him to explore the creation of a ‘different kind of glass’ - distinct from the already prominent Zalto and Gabriel brands.
A year was spent in conducting intensive scientific research involving meeting more than 100 wine professionals as well as reviewing relevant literary papers. After consulting a panel comprising the best wine makers in France, 2 glass prototypes were eventually selected from 7. Such stringent procedures paved the way to deliver unprecedented tasting experiences with extreme finesse and oenological precision.
Each Sydonios glass is exquisitely mouth-blown in Bohemian tradition, and meticulously measured to perfect proportions. All Sydonios products are dishwasher safe, and securely packaged in designer-made boxes packed with foam.
Sydonios is currently the only French based glass company producing light and delicate glassware, and operates the only factory in Europe that uses solely electricity in its manufacturing. With 8 to 10 less carbon dioxide emissions than gas-based productions, Sydonios is committed to an environmentally-friendly energy future.
Sydonios is by far the most referential glassware in Bordeaux Cru Classés, and a leader in the Champagne spectrum. It is the preferred glassware amongst wine makers across France.
Wine Journey is excited to contribute to Sydonios’ growing presence in the fine wine and dining industry. We present you glasses from the Racine and Terroir collections.

Caring for Sydonios Glasses
Dishwasher safe
All Sydonios glasses are dishwasher safe. Use a low temperature setting, wash glasses separately and avoid dishwasher tablets or liquids.
Handwashing
Leave the glasses to soak for a few minutes in dilute, warm soapy water or white vinegar. Do not use washing-up liquid. Avoid rapid temperature fluctuations between washing and rinsing.
Drying
We recommend hand-drying the glasses using a clean, dry tea-towel or microfibre cloth. Always hold the glasses by the bowl to avoid damaging the stems.
