Domaine Valeria Naudin Nuits-Saint-Georges La Petit Charmotte 2023

Terroir:
‘La Petite Charmotte’ is a 4.23ha lieu-dit in the north of Nuits-Saints-Georges, just off Vosne-Romanée, beneath the renowned Premier Cru ‘Les Bousselots’. The slopes are gentle, and comprise limestone bedrock and clay subsoil.
Though not classified Premier Cru, the plot lieu-dit enjoys excellent sun exposure and soil quality like its more acclaimed neighbours.
The grapes from ‘La Petite Charmotte’ are often blended into village wines, but are increasingly recognised in single-plot wines.
Vinification:
The grapes are sorted twice, once in the vineyard, another in the winery.
80% whole-cluster fermentatio
4-day maceration in stainless-steel tank
Gentle extraction and pressing
6-month ageing: in a 400 litre ceramic vat and a 228-litre 3-year old barrel (Saint-Martin cooperage from the Vosges forest), followed by 1 month in a stainless-steel tank
Light lenticular filtration before bottling
Sulfur not used in the process
