Les Blanchards is one of the smaller Premier Cru climats of Morey-Saint-Denis, covering just under two hectares and shared among only a handful of growers. Situated in the southern part of the appellation, towards Chambolle-Musigny, the vineyard is characterised by pale, limestone-rich soils mixed with clay and marl — the very soils that gave the climat its name.
The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Les Blanchards combines the natural structure of Morey with a more lifted, refined profile. Dark and red fruits are layered with florals, spice, black pepper, tobacco and an earthy, slightly wild character. The palate is fleshy yet energetic, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a savoury mineral finish. Jeanniard’s style favours precision over excess, allowing the character of this compact Premier Cru to come through clearly.
It is a wine of depth without heaviness — distinctly Morey-Saint-Denis in its structure, yet with enough perfume and finesse to hint at neighbouring Chambolle-Musigny.

Rémi Jeanniard
Rémi Jeanniard started his own domaine in 2003, after about 20 years of working at his father’s domaine, and upon the retirement of his father. The family winery was divided between Rémi and his brother. Rémi's inaugural vintage was premiered in 2004.
The estate of Domaine Rémi Jeanniard currently encompasses communes in the heart of Côte de Nuits - Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny. The vines in the domaine, being at least 50 years old, are of older than average age amongst those in the region. As such, Rémi tends to them with meticulous care, and abstains from chemical fertilisers.
Rémi practices green harvesting and handpicks his harvest selectively in order to increase the quality of the must in his grapes. The grapes are carefully sorted and destalked, and fermented with only natural yeast. To produce wines true to the terroir, bottling is done without fining.
