The Producer
The family Maison of Simon Rion is based entirely in Courmas, a village in the Montagne de Reims. The estate spans 2.15 ha, dominated by Pinot Meunier, complemented with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Simon took over the reins as the fourth generation vigneron in 2007. In his tenure, Simon embraces low intervention viticultural and oenological techniques; his vineyards became completely free from herbicides and pesticides in 2017. In addition to the repertoire of classic blends that prevail in the Maison’s profile, Simon has since created a series of mono-varietals called ‘Larmes’ that showcases the same wine typicity in modern perspectives.
