Variety: 100% Cabernet Franc
Vine Age: Planted in 1995
Soil: Sand and limestone
Viticulture: Organic (certified)
Elevage: half in 2 to 3 year old barrels and half in raw concrete tanks in 8 months. Then assembled and aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling where they are aged for 6 - 12 months in bottles before release.
Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyards and cellar. Bunches are 100% de-stemmed before indigenous yeast fermentation in tank (concrete or stainless steel) to maintain freshness and vibrancy. Maceration 10-15 days, with no pump-overs.

The Producers

Arnaud Lambert joined the winery founded by his father in 2005. The domaine covers about 30 hectares of vineyards in the appellations of Saumur and Saumur-Champigny. The viticulture was converted organic in 2009 and biodynamic in 2018, in the pursuit to un-earth the true potential of each terroir. Today, Arnaud is known as one of the most prominent Loire growers practising low-intervention, precise winemaking, remarkably distinguished from the mass-producing cooperatives that dominate the region.
